Peter Emily, DDS is the AVDC’s only Honorary member due to his contributions to the College’s formation in the early years. Dr. Emily has sponsored numerous awards and established the Peter Emily International Veterinary Dental Foundation.
Life Diplomate
Voting Members in good standing who have reached the age of 65 and have been a Diplomate for at least 10 years. Emeritus Diplomates have all the rights of Diplomates, including voting privileges and service on committees except for formal training of residents and listing on the Find a Veterinary Dentist webpage. Emeritus Diplomates shall not be required to pay the fees as active Diplomates.

Active Diplomate
Veterinarians who devote a significant part of their professional activities to research, teaching or the practice of veterinary dentistry and who have successfully completed the required AVDC® training, credentials and examination processes to be recognized as a Diplomate and are in good standing with all membership privileges including voting.
